Thanks For A Great Season

The 2011-12 season is over. A big thank you goes out to everyone who came up to BV to ski and ride with us this season. I hope you all have a fun "not ski season" and we'll see you in December.

2012-13 Bolton Valley All Access Season Passes are now on sale at the lowest prices that will be offered. Those are the same low prices we offered last spring, but they are only good through April 3, 2012.

Saturday Is The Last Day

We'll folks, Saturday is going to be it for the season. The record breaking heat this week has done a number on our snowpack and things have melted pretty quickly. Right now we're down to primarily Spillway, Sherman's Pass and Beech Seal. Surfaces are spring conditions and the skiing is expert level terrain only. While the snow is melting, there are some fun bumps up on Spillway, and Beech Seal is good from some carving.

On Saturday the Vista Quad will run from 10am-2pm. We'll have the barbecue set up and lunch will be just $8. Spring Skiing Karaoke will kick off at 1pm, followed by the Dewey Drive Band at 4pm.

Thanks to everyone for a great season, we hope to see you tomorrow and again next season.

The Last Hurrah

The good news: today had the potential to be the warmest day of the year thus far, which meant t-shirts and sunglasses were skiing and riding essentials. The not-so-good news: that sun quickly melts the snow pack, causing the rest of our days to be numbered. Saturday is now projected to be the final day of the season Solution: The beach will be there for the rest of the summer, so you might as well get your last turns of the season in before you have to wait until next year. Lift tickets are just $25 per day for the rest of the season. We're now down to Sherman's Pass, Spillway and Beech Seal. The soft surfaces are changing rabidly so be aware while you are skiing and riding.

Final Weekend

Due to the rapidly diminishing snowpack the final day of skiing and riding at Bolton Valley will be this Sunday, March 25th. Lift tickets will be just $25 for all ages for the final few days of the season.

We will still hold SkiTheEast.net Night with $15 lift tickets from 4-8pm available to those with the special barcode from SkiTheEast.net.

Pond Skimming was scheduled to be this Sunday but we've had to cancel this event. We will hold Spring Skiing Karaoke instead and we'll still give away a season pass to the adult and youth winners of the competition.

It's melting quickly so come and get it while you still can.

Spring Weekend

This weekend will be a warm spring weekend. No getting around that. So far the snow pack has held up decently well in the soggy and warm weather this week and we plan to open tomorrow with 50 trails and 5 lifts. Add in sunny skies with temps in the 60s and we may be looking at the best spring skiing of the season, with hero snow and  Bar-B-Ques.

Skier and Rider Appreciation Day is Sunday. We'll be holding a laid back rail jam in the Jungle Jib Park and some fun games for the kids in the afternoon. For lunch we'll be setting up the Bar-B-Que and offering a $5 lunch for season pass holders ($8 for non-pass holders). Season pass holders will also be able to get $10 off of lift tickets for friends and family.

Head on up this weekend for what may be the best spring skiing of the year. If you don't get it in now it will be gone before you know it.

Groomers

Tonight and tomorrow are all about the groomers. We've just been through yet another thaw freeze cycle which is getting pretty routine (old) for this winter. However, this is when our groomers really shine. They'll get out there tonight and work on putting two thirds of the trails back into shape for the weekend. Also, some of the ungroomed terrain softened up fairly well today and should be open tomorrow, though it may be firmer than what we're able to groom. Don't forget to stop upstairs in Fireside Flatbread for some free samples on Saturday from Vermont Specialty Food Day.

Looking further ahead, Sunday should be a spectacular day of spring skiing as temps will climb into the 40s and the snow should soften nicely. Enjoy.

Fireworks

We've got a few noteworthy items for this weekend.

First, we've received over 3 feet of snow since last Friday. This has made for some amazing conditions over the past week and it sets up up for a nice weekend. Fair warning, Saturday is looking a little gusty so some lifts may go on wind hold. But, Sunday is looking less windy, so that may be the pick of the weekend.

Second, we have a fireworks show scheduled for 8:30pm on Saturday. This will be a celebration of the conclusion of the Hope On The Slopes event on Saturday.

Third and final note for today, 2012-13 Bolton Valley All Access Season Passes are now on sale at the lowest prices that will be offered. Those are the same low prices we offered last spring, but they are only good through April, 3, 2012. Buy your season pass now for next year and ski and ride the remainder of this season for free.

Enjoy the weekend and hope for calm winds.
